An old jeans owner is looking for his old jeans, although it may not look like one now as it’s now blue and we don’t know if the whale tail has survived, one of his biggest regrets 1 selling it and 2 modifying it.
So the quest falls to you guys, have you seen this reg about?

Ex jeans pace car for sale at Bangers & cash Comparison pic, can you tell the original from the remade Thanks to one of our Members, Nigel & his daughter have come up trumps with this stunning replica of the jeans/GT gear knob insert, made to the correct size & colour these use a UV resistant resin, so I’m sure these will last as long as the original.
I’m awaiting a sample to review properly, but from the pics these look to be a winner. We will of course be stocking these as a replacement priced at £7:50 Via Royal Mail While going through the database, and checking the cars listed I came across ANP 610M and it was noted that it was a Covin 911T on DVLA’s reg checker, so intrigued by this information, I started to look a little deeper, and with the help of Google I came across this image, the Wolves jeans beetle, now in its new attire.
Must admit I quite like it, would be better if painted in Tunis Gelb and the decals added to the lower section, can’t quite believe I’ve found it, as the rest of the Wolves Jeans seem to be very elusive, maybe this one has better luck being in its new outfit. Let’s see if the owner comes to light now, I do hope so as I would love to see this with some jeans at a show sometime in the future. Production platesRequest time again folks, can the owners (or if you know of the owner) of the jeans with reg numbers below please contact me regarding production plate information, as these are the only jeans we can't generate the data for, and just the data from two on this list would help immensely in filling out our database
FIJ 105 HOI 5876 OGR 102M OGR 634M JNZ 6 (SBF 794M) UTE 739M YWA 570M XMD 197M XTC 902N I know a few of you are waiting on generated production plate data, well maybe one of the above has the key It is with thanks to Marco for sharing these pics to our Facebook page, that I have become interested in them, especially the one showing the reg plate, as with this bit of information I was able to learn a little more.
All pics that have been found so far are in black & white, but with the power of the web some people have come forward saying they remember these and were yellow, the same as the jeans model, but the rear quarter script replaced with the word wolves in jeans style font, this was presumably to commemorate Wolves winning the league cup in 1974. From the pics we know for sure there were five in existence, ANP 613M clearly visible and all other reg in sequence, in one way or the other. From one viewers recollection these were given away as prizes, but that for now is all we know, so my quest for more information is out to you guys Ok so it's request time again, having been updating the register again, I keep finding little pieces of that jigsaw puzzle, but I'm still quite a few bits missing but with your help well get the complete picture.
New dating findings Dating your jeans through the VIN, all our jeans for the first series start with 1142, which basically means "beetle (1) saloon (1) 1974 model (4) made in the 1970's (2) now the next series of numbers are of course unique, but by using the next set of three after 1142 you get the day the jeans was built. The numbers below only relate to the jeans model built in Belgium, German built jeans well their numbering system isn't as precise and the dating process isn't as easy. 051 = 4th September 1973 first day of production 055 = 18th September 1973 057 = no records found (yet) 059 = 2nd October 1973 211 = need more records to verify 212 = 9th October 1973 214 = 16th October 1973 215 = need more records to verify 216 = 23rd October 1973 238 = 8th November 1973 last day of production I've also found something interesting with the last three digits, but until more numbers come in, I'll keep it under my hat. So if anyone would like to share with us the day your jeans was built, it would help immensely please only post any of the above number not your full vin, if you would like to give your full vin for the register only please email me Thanks Well they keep coming, via the contact form not bad for the supposed 13 left on the road, thanks guys means a lot for the register, as we get more numbers be it vin numbers or production plate numbers the more we understand about VW’s system.
One thing I would ask, is could you also contact me directly via email, as the contact form seems to be having problems with supplying us with a contact email. Many thanks Andy [email protected] |
